If you are interested in making the world a better place, Hillel's community service opportunities are the thing for you! We are there on the local scene, collecting food for the food pantry and baby clothes for the battered women's shelter. You will find Staten Island Hillel students raising money to train Seeing Eye dogs for the blind in Israel, and on the streets in Manhattan, feeding breakfast to the homeless under the FDR. When school vacation comes around, Hillel's Alternative Breaks are a meaningful way to spend your winter break. This January, we are offering two different and exciting trips: going to Los Angeles to work with homeless, or to New Orleans to continue the amazing work of helping to rebuild that unique city, still so devastated by hurricane Katrina. Registration is limited for these subsidized low cost trips, so if you want to come along, call us right away at 718 982 3006 or stop by the Multi Faith Center in 1C Room 225 today!
