How many Jewish Students attend College of Staten Island?

 

There are approximately 1000 Jewish students studying at the College of Staten Island.

Is Hillel particular type of Judaism?

 

Hillel is not affiliated with any particular denomination or type of Judaism. Hillel offers Jewish experiences for anyone, and everyone is always welcome.

 

Is there kosher food available besides the meals at Shabbat services?

Hillel at CSI hosts monthly Shabbat dinners and holiday celebrations that are always strictly kosher. Our lunch and learn programs are kosher, and there are usually kosher help yourself snacks in the office if you drop in. The cafeteria in the student center sells pre packaged kosher sandwiches and salads.

What happens on campus for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur?

Hillel celebrates Jewish holidays on campus with different events. Local synagogues warmly open their doors to students for services. Please contact the Hillel office for a list of Staten Island synagogues.

 

What are the membership fees for Hillel?

Being a member of Hillel is ABSOLUTLY FREE!!!
